Leading company in Facilities Management & Environmental Solutions has an immediate opening for a Benefits Manager to join their growing team located in Farmington Hills, MI. Responsibilities:
- Develop and administer the employee benefits package, including health, life, disability, and retirement plans.
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations related to benefits.
- Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors and providers and ensure procedures are followed to minimize costs.
- Provide guidance regarding benefits enrollment and utilization.
- Manage day-to-day benefits administration, including billing, enrollment, and changes.
- Design and execute employee communications relating to benefits.
- Monitor employee eligibility for benefits in accordance with company guidelines.
- Respond to inquiries, troubleshoot benefit issues, and resolve conflicts.
- Report benefits-related data and trends to senior leadership.
- Manage all leaves of absence (FMLA, STD, LTD).
- Manage retirement plan by completing year-end compliance testing, preparing and submitting Form 5500 to the IRS, preparing annual participant census, etc.
- Reconcile monthly benefit invoices for all benefit plans.
- Manage open enrollment process.
- Manage benefit plans for Canada and unions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years managing the full suite of benefits.
- Subject matter expert in benefits, 401(k) administration, as well as Canadian benefits and savings plan (RRSP).
- Strong attention to detail.
- The ability to work harmoniously with co-workers and accounting team.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and HR systems.
- Experience with Paycor is a plus.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Data analysis skills.
