Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $18.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).
The Communications Office provides internal and external communication support for the Department of Public Instruction. Activities of the division include media relations; messaging, branding and content development for publications, news organizations, stakeholder audiences, social media and the agency web site; responding to public records request; publication sales; graphic design and printing/duplicating; coordinating of face-to-face and virtual public outreach; maintaining and improving the agency’s public website and intranet; setting and implementing communication policies; and maintaining email distribution software and customer service software for agency use. Communications team is seeking a dynamic and motivated Communications Intern for the summer. This opportunity offers hands-on experience in communications strategy and planning while supporting various projects and initiatives. The intern will be responsible for supporting communications planning and strategy development, conducting social listening, contributing to narrative change planning, assisting with community outreach and engagement, enhancing internal communications efforts, managing public records requests, building and maintaining a story bank, and assessing and editing listservs.
