- Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Regional Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for managing the classification and compensation plan and overseeing recruitment and records management for assigned region.
- Interpreting and applying policies and regulations when reviewing and analyzing classification and compensation actions.
- Providing guidance and advising managers on classification and salary.
- Reviewing position descriptions and updates under the State Delegated Authority System.
- Processing Human Resources day-to-day personnel actions and ensuring that procedures and policies are accurate, consistent and completed in a timely manner. (New Hires, Rehires, Reassignments, Movement between Agencies, Promotions, Demotions, Reclassifications, Salary Adjustments, Suspensions/Termination, Leave payout, EPMS ratings, work schedule changes).
- Maintaining the accuracy of the recruitment and selection process by working closely with hiring managers to post jobs.
- Answering questions regarding job postings, the interview process and the rules and regulations of employment.
- Consulting with hiring managers to develop proactive recruitment strategies.
- Identifying, engaging and recruiting qualified candidates by attending career fairs.
- Cultivating relationships with the colleges/universities to recruit and place students into internship opportunities.
- Coordinating the maintenance and retention of HR records to include development and implementation of records management.
Bachelor's degree and experience in human resources management programs.
Equivalency combination of education and experience maybe approved by Division of State Human Resources.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources management. Knowledge of federal laws and state regulations affecting human resources management. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to analyze needs and resources and to recommend and communicate solutions effectively. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting a variety of policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related fields and one year of human resources management programs, and experience in NeoGov and SCEIS.
