What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Account Representative - Outside Sales position at STH Inc.?

  • This role is based out of the MD/DE Eastern Shore Region; applicants must live within this area to be considered.

As our Junior Municipal/Industrial Sales Representative at STH, you will play a pivotal role in initiating, fostering, and maintaining relationships with key municipal personnel and industrial accounts to continue to expand our scope alongside our existing municipal/industrial sales representative that supports our DE/MD Eastern Shore initiative.


Your primary objective is to establish and build relationships with our customers, promote, and sell STH municipal pumps, industrial products, related controllers, accessories, and fire pumps/controllers. By executing effective sales strategies, you will contribute to the growth of our market share and revenue in both municipal and industrial sales sectors.

Job Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales plan to achieve targets and objectives.
  • This is a junior-level sales role with the focus being on building our existing customer base through cold calling and follow-up. You will be working closely with the senior sales representative in the area to close deals once relationships are established.
  • Meet weekly, monthly, and annual sales targets as set by management.
  • Maintain a consistent follow-up process with clients to nurture relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Training Commitment: Participate in and complete the Sandler Program to enhance sales skills and techniques.
  • Maintain a high level of organization and proficiency in managing customer data and sales activities.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related sales field.
  • Demonstrate fairness and adaptability when dealing with internal and external personnel, prioritizing customer satisfaction.
  • Exhibit the ability to handle stress, manage conflict, and resolve issues effectively.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to articulate product benefits and negotiate effectively.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to adapt to business demands.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities to identify opportunities and overcome challenges.
  • High School Diploma

Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and/or years of equivalent experience.
  • Possess a high mechanical aptitude and interest to effectively understand and communicate product features.
  • Proficient in using Oracle NetSuite (or similar) CRM software for managing customer relationship data and sales-related activities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of industrial/municipalities customer base/industry knowledge.
