Job Summary:

The Assistant Site Superintendent at BluCor Construction plays a vital role in supporting the Site Superintendent in the planning, coordination, and supervision of on-site construction activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Project Coordination:
    • Support the Site Superintendent in managing day-to-day operations on the construction site.
    • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
    • Help in preparing and maintaining project schedules and timelines.
  • Quality Control and Safety:
    • Monitor on-site activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, and safety regulations.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to identify and resolve any issues or deficiencies.
    • Promote and enforce a culture of safety on the construction site.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Assist in maintaining accurate project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders.
    • Support the preparation of reports on project status, milestones, and any issues encountered.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the Site Superintendent, project managers, and other team members to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
    • Participate in site meetings and provide input on project planning and execution.
    • Assist in resolving any conflicts or issues that arise on the construction site.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
    • Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, PMP) are a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in construction management or a related role.
    • Proven experience in supporting large-scale construction projects.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and safety standards.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
    • Proficient in project management software and tools.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attributes:
    • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and safety.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions.
