Position Overview:
The role of the Regional Director of Operations is to ensure that leadership of all employees in all departments within the communities are met through strong management, support, and oversite within the positions of each full time Assisted Living Director within the senior living communities. In conjunction with the Regional Director of Nursing, this position is responsible for assuring all Policies/ Procedures, Rules and Regulations by the MN Department of Health Assisted Living Licensing Division are being followed and executed within each community. The Regional Director of Operations will assure that training requirements are met for all licensed and unlicensed personnel as it relates to direct care for the residents. The Regional Director of Operations will focus on providing leadership, hands on support, guidance, and direction on operations standards for cost control, quality and safety control while maintaining excellent service quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Hire and Training of all Licensed Assisted Living Directors within the designated region of communities.
- Manages and leads support/contact to the Assisted Living Directors (Housing Directors) within the designated region of communities.
- Assures all Policies/Procedures, Rules and Regulations by the MN Department of Health AL Licensing Division are fully trained, implemented and in use at each community.
- Conducts quarterly mock surveys within each community in conjunction with the Regional Director of Nursing in the same region.
- Conducts routine audits of employee files, inspection reports, training documentation, MAARC reports, grievance/complaint logs onsite with the LALD (Housing Director).
- Assists the Director of Operations in accordance with the Director of Nursing with policy/procedure implementation as it relates to the Assisted Living Licensing requirements.
- Fill in for the Housing Directors at any of the communities supported within the region as they take time off.
- Be back up on call for all communities to the Housing Directors
- Audits Educare completion within all employees to assure compliance in training requirements.
- Assigned monthly Educare and continuing Education courses to all employees within the region in accordance with MDH rules and regs.
- Audits on the emergency call systems at each communities including call log / history tracking and review with the Housing Director.
- Reviews the staff communication log upon each visit to the communities.
- Assures all training requirements, programs and procedures that can be completed by the Housing Director (LALD) are being conducted properly within the region of communities.
- Reviews monthly budgets including expenses, P&L's, credit card expense forms & petty cash spending.
- Assist the Housing Directors in monthly review of petty cash and resident cash log reconciliation.
- Supports RN Care Managers & Housing Directors (LALD's) as requested in participating in care conferences.
- Be onsite at the community when an investigation or survey is taking place along with the Regional Director of Nursing.
- Assist in coordinating group new hire training within all the communities within the designated region.
- Be of onsite support to the Housing Director (LALD) within the communities who have multiple admissions any given week.
- Revised 8.2021Conducts quarterly staff meetings with the Housing Directors (LALD's) in conjunction with the Regional Director of Nursing.
- Assists in outreach to area Hospitals, Clinics, Homecare Agencies, Hospice companies and neighboring communities.
- Schedules CEU trainings for all care staff to attend throughout the year within the communities along with the Regional Director of Nursing.
- Is flexible and willing to adapt to changes in our program as they occur to respond to the market.
- Reviews operations related vendors and contracts on a routine basis in conjunction with the Director of Operations.
- Promotes a positive, team approach and a healthy work environment within all communities.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

- Must be a Licensed Assisted Living Director with the MN Dept of Health (LALD).
- Must receive a "not disqualified" criminal background result from Department of Human Service Netstudy 2.0 Background Check program.
- Minimum two years in management of all departments pertaining to senior living including a Management position.
- Previous experience in training and conducting education seminars is preferred and beneficial.
- Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and the general public.
- Must be screened and free for communicable diseases.
- Must have a valid driver's license and ability to travel to up to 7 communities as a region within the Twin Cities.
- Comfortable performing assistive duties in the commercial kitchens is preferred. Revised 8.2021
