Job Title: Program Manager
Job Description Are you looking for a unique opportunity to lead and make a significant difference in the lives of children? Our agency provides a supportive environment for abused, neglected, and abandoned children, aged 3-17. We specialize in managing group homes for sibling groups, all-boy and all-girl homes, and parenting teens, ensuring a nurturing and secure environment for these vulnerable populations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the management of 7 – 9 designated group homes, each serving 8-10 children per home, including homes for sibling groups, all boys, all girls, and parenting teens.
- Be available for on-call duties one weekend every 4-5 weeks and respond to emergencies after hours on weekdays, ensuring round-the-clock support for our staff and children.
- Facilitate both staff and client meetings to address needs, progress, and house dynamics.
- Work collaboratively with the Department of Child Safety, local schools, behavioral health agencies and other child welfare system partners.
- Elevate staff competencies in trauma-informed care, providing tools and training to manage various behavioral needs effectively.
- Lead, coach, and mentor staff, including direct supervision of Group Home Managers.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- High emotional intelligence, especially when managing diverse teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with experience liaising with external agencies like schools, physicians, and behavioral health services.
- Proficiency in hiring, training, coaching, and, if necessary, terminating staff.
- At least 3 years of experience in childcare or youth services, preferably in a group home or similar setting.
- A bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
Selective Preferences:
- Experience with trauma-informed care, child welfare, social work, or in a group home setting within foster care is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
