Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage our financial records and ensure the accuracy of our accounting processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in bookkeeping and accounting principles, with proficiency in various accounting software. This role requires a proactive individual who can handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
Duties
- Weekly payroll for approximately 100 employees, including tax filings and payments using the SAGE software system
- Employee record keeping
- General ledger responsibilities, including sales and expense input and statement preparation
- Managing a small group of accounts receivable, including billing
- Handling a larger group of accounts payable, including writing checks and data input
- Banking duties, including deposits and account reconciliation
- Monthly sales tax filing and payment
- Supervision of one receptionist/office assistant
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of double entry bookkeeping principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Sage software system
- Familiarity with governmental accounting practices is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills for account analysis.
- Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation and maintain accurate financial records.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills to interact with team members and external stakeholders.
We are located in a smaller, quiet office in North Columbus. Must be able to hit the ground running as previous bookkeeper will not be willing to train. Our outside accounting firm and company president and owner will help with questions and directions . Should be able to start soon.
