What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping & Receiving Clerk I position at Synergy IT Solutions?
Position Overview
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk II is a part-time, temporary opportunity. This role participates in the shipping and receiving of inventory, maintaining inventory counts, ensure quantity and quality of orders, verifying inventory counts, maintaining, and organizing a warehouse and making deliveries.
Essential Functions
Participate in packing, shipping, receiving, organizing, and storing supplies and equipment to provide timely and accurate deliveries.
Load/unload trucks and move inventory.
Ensure all inventory is accurate and has proper documentation.
Track all inventory, including customer-owned and retirement inventory.
Obtain proof-of delivery with signatures on any equipment deliveries or pickup.
Deliver a variety of items (boxes, packages, cargo, office supplies, furniture, equipment, etc.) to assigned locations and individuals.
Manage delivery inconsistencies or delays.
Drives delivery vehicle as needed for the purpose of transporting orders to designated locations.
Responds to inquiries from staff for the purpose of providing information and/or direction regarding the status of deliveries, etc.
Maintains documents, files, and records (e.g., tracking online shipping, equipment transfer forms, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, and providing materials and reliable resource information.
Maintain delivery vehicle (e.g., checking fluid levels, fueling, cleaning, etc.) to ensure vehicle safety.
Clean warehouse to maintain a safe and sanitary work area.
Check the forklift nightly for battery and charge capacity as needed. (Buffalo location only.)
Collect, open, distribute and ship inter-office mail as assigned.
Sets up and removes warehouse racking and shelving as needed.
Purchase warehouse supplies.
Cross train with the Expediters to provide back-up as needed for logistics responsibilities.
Perform basic building maintenance as needed.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Ability to lift 100lbs for the purpose of moving equipment / Loading and unloading delivery trucks.
Pushing, pulling, carrying, and climbing ladders
Normal sitting, standing, and walking throughout the course of the day.
Reads printed materials or from a computer monitor
Uses a keyboard
Requires dexterity and data entry skills
Education
Required Degree Level: High School
Requires a high school degree or equivalent.
