Job Title: Dispatcher
Location: Charleston, SC
Schedule: Part-time| Tuesday-Friday 1300-1800, Saturday 0600-1300. Average 25-30 hrs weekly.
Pay: $20 hr
Job Summary:
The Dispatcher position ensures the efficient and timely routing of drivers, trucks, and loads to meet customer and operational needs. This role involves hands-on dispatching duties, coordinating daily activities, resolving issues, and optimizing the use of fleet resources to maximize efficiency while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
What does a normal day look like?
- Coordinating daily cargo movements with drivers.
- Scheduling pickup appointments with port terminals and customers.
- Optimizing truck drivers' delivery schedules.
- Tracking and monitoring cargo movements.
- Record keeping; document details for each load assigned to drivers.
- Assisting with customer relations: Maintaining communication with customers providing updates and details of cargo movements.
- Assisting the Operations Manager with account management, order entry, BOLs & POD throughput.
- Other duties as assigned. Everyone helps cover other team members responsibility in the event they are out on PTO or sick leave.
What makes this job right for you?

- Knowledge of dedicated transportation operations, FMCSA, and DOT regulations preferred.
- Familiarity with dispatch software and GPS tracking systems.
