Property Accountant

Well established and growing property management organization targeting a Property Accountant to join the team!

Role is onsite Hawthorne Ca

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial records for our company.

DUTIES

• Prepare and review accounting records, financial statements, tax documents, and other financial reports.
• Manage the month-end closing process, including reconciliations.
• Record journal entries for accrued and prepaid expenses.
• Generate accurate and timely financial statements for assigned residential and commercial properties.
• Reconcile and maintain schedules for all balance sheet accounts.
• Review and approve bank reconciliations, ensuring all discrepancies are addressed.
• Oversee invoice approvals within the accounts payable workflow.
• Prepare year-end tax workpaper schedules and reconciliations.
• Calculate and issue annual CAM and real estate tax billings for commercial properties.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets.
• Provide accounting support to onsite property staff using Yardi property management software.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• Accounting experience in a property management setting.
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Experience with property management software (Yardi Voyager preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word (moderate to advanced level).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
