What You Will Do
The Spare Parts Coordinator is responsible for managing, organizing, and optimizing the storeroom inventory of maintenance, repair, and operations supplies. This role ensures that critical spare parts, tools, and materials are efficiently organized, accurately tracked, and readily accessible to support maintenance and operational activities. The position requires a focus on storeroom organization, inventory accuracy, and collaboration with maintenance and operations teams.
What You Will Do
- Receive inbound product deliveries, process paperwork per work instructions, deliver product to proper storage location, and update applicable ERP or inventory systems
- Document any overages, shortages or damages on the Delivery Receipt (DR) or Bill of Lading (BOL) at time of delivery. Communicate and variances to the Procurement team.
- Maintain optimal levels of MRO inventory to support production and maintenance schedules.
- Conduct regular inventory cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and ensure data accuracy.
- Track and monitor stock levels, reorder points, and lead times to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
- Ensure the storeroom and ancillary storage areas are clean, organized, and systematically arranged to allow easy access and retrieval of parts and materials.
- Regularly review labeling systems and storage methods to streamline material handling and improve efficiency.
- Regularly review and reorganize storeroom layout to maximize space utilization and enhance workflow.
- Standardize storage locations to improve inventory retrieval.
- Work closely with maintenance and operations teams to forecast inventory needs based on equipment usage and planned maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel to ensure the timely availability of required parts and materials.
- Coordinate with Procurement team any changes in inventory or service needs for proactive sourcing.
- Identify and execute process improvement opportunities to enhance storeroom efficiency, inventory accuracy, and storage practices.
- Ensure all MRO inventory processes and storeroom organization practices adhere to safety and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain safety standards in the storeroom, ensuring clear aisles, secure shelving, and proper handling of materials.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in operations or manufacturing
- Basic mechanical aptitude and math skills.
- Cheerful outlook and problem-solving mentality.
- Capable of communicating and expressing ideas clearly and concisely, in both written and verbal formats.
- Ability to read & interpret written & verbal directions while working in a safe, effective & productive manner within a fast-paced environment.
- Regular on-time attendance is required in accordance with Company attendance policy and procedures.
