Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Drafter to join our team. The CAD Drafter will create detailed drawings and models for structural steel projects using computer-aided design software. Knowledge of SDS2 is highly valued for this position and will be a significant asset to applicants. This role is critical for ensuring accuracy and quality in our steel fabrication projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed CAD drawings and models for structural steel projects based on design specifications and client requirements.
- Utilize SDS2 software to develop accurate 3D models, connection details, and fabrication drawings.
- Interpret architectural and engineering blueprints, specifications, and sketches.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and fabricators to ensure designs meet technical requirements and project timelines.
- Perform quality checks on all drawings to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with industry standards.
- Maintain organized project files and document revisions to ensure version control.
- Provide support and technical expertise during the fabrication and installation phases as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or certification in CAD drafting, engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a CAD Drafter, preferably in structural steel or construction industries.
- Proficiency with SDS2 software is highly preferred.
- Strong skills in AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
- Ability to interpret and create detailed technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards and building codes is a plus.
