Logistics Manager
Job description:
Purpose: Manages traffic/shipping and logistics activities to support NAM Subsea & Surface Projects.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily activities performed by the logistics team to ensure delivery targets are achieved
- Ensure all direct reports operate in a safe manner and in accordance with all health and safety policies and procedures
- Ensure the Logistics team adheres to all company policy and procedures, coach, mentor and evaluate team members
- Work with Trade Compliance department to conduct compliance reviews and interface with brokers to determine correct classification, country of origin and other items as applicable
- Improve and implement operational processes and procedures
- Support projects, assigning the necessary resources and monitoring shipping service quality and costs, while meeting dynamic schedules and changing requirements
- Verify and authorize shipping documents according to applicable procedures
- Investigate shipping market by facilitating regular meetings with Forwarding Agents and shipping owners
- Promote and lead the implementation and automation of appropriate IT tools and reports
- Ensure application of correct operational methodology according to procedures and to Company’s quality system
- Establish departmental objectives in alignment with regional and global guidelines
- Develop and maintains key performance indicators to gauge team performance and execution effectiveness
- Ensures imports and exports regulations compliance
- Negotiate GTCs and MSAs with Third party Logistics suppliers
- Manage a team
- Freight tone: < 100.000 F/T
You are meant for this job if:
- Technical diploma or relevant degree/ diploma (preferably bachelor’s degree)
- 10 years of related experience
- Strong Leadership and teamwork skills with the ability to influence others
- 3-5 years management experience
- Knowledge or degree of the specific market
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- SAP experienced preferred
- Advanced proficiency in applicable program functions in MS Office preferred
- 19 CFR and 15 CFR knowledge preferred
- Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the country, without sponsorship.
