JOB TITLE: Global Leader, Talent & Development

JOB SUMMARY

The Global Leader, Talent & Development will be responsible for leading Terumo BCT’s global talent management strategy, “manager excellence” program offerings, and leadership development road map, in order to support implementation of the People Strategy to increase organizational performance.

This role leads the team responsible for designing, planning, leading, executing company-wide initiatives in the areas Associate and Leadership Development, Talent Management, Culture, and Associate Engagement. Position is responsible for designing, planning, and implementing programs, systems, and processes to meet and support changing and ongoing business needs.

This crucial role will partner closely with the HRBP Team, specialized learning teams, and cross-functional business leaders to develop, scale, and operationalize global, strategic talent initiatives. Deep expertise in the space will allow the Leader to serve as a subject matter expert responsible for creating a culture of learning, professional growth, and organizational excellence.

The Global Talent Leader will define and execute an ambitious global talent roadmap, lead the development of a best-in-class employee experience, and leverage leading-edge tools, processes, and analytics to strengthen talent efforts.

In addition to leading through influence and owning our global development strategy, The Global Talent Leader will also manage and develop a high-performing team, utilizing people-centric management style and growth mindset to build and transform our talent strategy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
In partnership with the HR Management Team, SVP HR, Chief People Officer and working closely with the HR Leadership Team (HRLT) and leading the various technical specialists to deliver on the following critical areas in:

Associate Experience— Refine and polish the talent development portfolio of offerings across the lifecycle (from onboarding and assimilation to internal movements and cross-departmental opportunities to thoughtful offboarding) thinking carefully on what programs to buy/ borrow/ build upon internally
Integrated Talent Development– creates cohesive talent development strategy, with off-the-shelf resources to assist HRBPs and HR leadership to develop high-performing leaders and managers, as well as influence people and culture strategy for optimal organizational health and effectiveness; Enables our managers to develop themselves and their teams by refining a comprehensive managerial program that encompasses people, processes, and leadership skills and behaviors that support our organizational values; Develops our leaders and brokers development activities that match succession planning needs; grows talent development team to align learning and development programs to be as efficient and effective as possible, focusing vendor agreements to scale globally for maximum impact and ROI, and tracking development of skills and competencies across all stages of the talent lifecycle.
Performance Management – in partnership with Global Leader, Rewards, perfects performance management process, utilizing internal and external trends analysis & data to support crisp processes, pay for performance culture, and build leadership capabilities to manage, recognize, and differentiate based upon organizational impact in a VUCA world.
Continuous Listening and Associate Experience—partners with other experts on the Talent & Analytics team to influence survey design, deployment and response within TBCT and as a thought leader across TC enterprises, including design of ad hoc and lifecycle surveys to support people outcomes and objectives, TBCT survey deployment & analysis of themes, insights from survey data, and action planning as appropriate.
Strategic Workforce Planning – partners with HR team and strategic planning teams to drive strategic workforce planning, organizational planning and talent planning; partners with HRBPs to advise, plan, and deploy talent strategies tied to business outcomes; partners with business to identify and segment critical talent, prioritizing investment in high-ROI programs and roles required to meet strategic objectives.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Serves as representative for TBCT on various Business/Corporate committees dealing with topics such as learning strategies, change initiatives, and cultural impact—across this and other Terumo entities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education
Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered. Advanced degree (MA, MS) in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development Learning and Development (or a similar degree) is preferred.

Experience

Minimum 8 years experience in Organization Development or Human Resources with at least 6 years in Organizational Development including experience leading high-performing teams.
Experience in design, planning, and implementation of innovative and other business plans and programs.
Experience in global, multi-cultural environments strongly preferred. Bonus points for having led teams across time zones.
Experience in organizational transformation and/or management consulting preferred.
Breadth of Business and Global Human Resources experiences in large and medium-size companies preferred, and with international exposure and/or span of control preferred. Bonus points for program management, sales, or cross-functional expertise/ exposure.
Depth in at least 2-3 specific technical areas such as Talent Management (Talent Acquisition, Leadership Development, Talent Development), Survey Science (Continuous Listening, Free-Text Analytics, Sentiment Analysis), Workforce Planning (Operational Headcount Budgeting and Strategic Planning), and/or Org Optimization (Right-sizing or high-growth transformations, Organizational Analytics, Organizational Redesign).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Typical Office Environment requirements include reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, sitting, and occasional lifting to 20 pounds.

Domestic and International travel up to 10%

Target Pay Range: $109,500.00 to $136,900.00 - Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base: 15.0%
