Position: Human Resources Summer Intern
Unpaid Internship: This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position
Program: Amarillo, Texas – Human Resources
Hours: Part-Time; Flexible workdays and work hours, Monday - Friday, between 8 AM - 5 PM from June 2, 2025 - August 1, 2025. The final work schedule will be determined by the supervisor.
Texas Panhandle Centers (TPC) is seeking a Junior or Senior level college student who is interested in expanding their knowledge in the Human Resources field while supporting TPC's HR team. This opportunity will provide the student with valuable experience in employment law, training, recruiting, and daily HR activities.
Essential duties and responsibilities of the Intern:
- Provide administrative support to the HR team and across the agency
- Interact in a positive manner with various members of staff and applicants
- Participate in recruitment activities such as creating marketing and recruitment materials
- Assist in on-boarding new hires
- Train staff
- Assist in employment law administration (FMLA, ADA, Title VII, FLSA, Form I-9)
- Maintain personnel records
Required qualifications to be successful in the job:
- No experience required
- Must be a Junior or Senior level college student attending classes during the regular term
- Field of study or major must be related to Human Resources
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint) and Adobe
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and pass all required background checks, per agency policy
- Must be 18 years of age or olde
Preferred qualifications to be successful in the job:
- Experience in office work
- Human Resources or Business major
- Ability to speak Spanish
