Student Teaching Assistant (Two-week Paid Internship Opportunity at the Bush Methow Campus in Mazama, WA)
Work Schedule: July 7, 2025 – July 11, 2025 (8:30 AM – 3:30 PM)
July 14, 2025 – July 18, 2025 (8:30 AM – 3:30 PM)

The Bush School is in search of an individual to join our Summer Program team as Student Teaching Assistant. We are seeking a candidate who is able to support the school’s mission of diversity and inclusion and who has a background that demonstrates an understanding and appreciation of intercultural fluency. Camp Description: The Bush School Discovery Day Camp
(Ages 7-10)
In a week of outdoor exploration and artistic expression, students will discover the magical secrets of the woods and waters around The Bush School’s Methow Campus. Using all of their senses and a variety of tools, students will develop naturalist skills, play games, and create art from and inspired by nature. Highlights could include building forts in the woods, learning to identify plants and insects, pressing flowers, cooking delicious snacks, and creating self-portraits from found materials. Friendships will develop and grow as students share feelings, ideas, and new experiences in a nurturing environment with caring instructors. Join us for a week of outdoor exploration, creativity, and summer fun!
While other duties may be assigned, a qualified candidate will be able to manage the key responsibilities and tasks listed below:
· Create and sustain a positive camp culture and group dynamic
· Support the delivery of instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences
· Follow directions from staff while also taking initiative
· Value and incorporate diverse perspectives in daily interactions and within the curriculum
· Contribute to a responsible, student-centered learning environment that fosters engagement, inquiry, risk-taking, and confidence
- Conscientiously complete other duties as assigned
Successful candidates will have:
- Communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with others
- Be patient and positive and find joy in the journey of promoting a lifelong love of learning
- Have proficient skills in the use of technology: including, but not limited to, Microsoft Suite, Google Drive, and Outlook
Additional Requirements:
- Must be at least 17 years old
- Meet the school’s standards when completing background screening
- Methow Valley resident preferred
Compensation/Benefit Information for this position:
· This temporary, term-limited position is an hourly position that is paid $20.00 per hour
· City of Seattle Sick and Safe Leave
