Director of Life Sharing

Essential Job Functions

• Supervise Life Sharing Coordinators by providing leadership, guidance, and regular documented meetings.
• In collaboration with Human Resources and with program Administrator approval, recruit, interview, and hire Life Sharing Coordinators who reflect the organization's mission and values.
• Oversee training for new and existing Life Sharing Coordinators, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
• Manage daily operations of the Life Sharing program to maintain compliance with Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) guidelines, Chapter 51 Waiver Regulations, and Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements.
• Master and apply Department of Human Services’ licensing regulations, coordinating licensing surveys, state reviews, and corrective action plans, as necessary.
• Ensure the medical and programmatic needs of individuals are met through monthly chart audits, home visits, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Coordinator and Program Compliance Coordinator to address individuals' medical, programmatic, and environmental needs.
• Work with the Respite Coordinator, individuals, and providers to ensure smooth admissions and discharges.
• Lead weekly departmental team meetings to review program updates, challenges, and action plans.
• Assist the Billing Coordinator in resolving billing concerns and provide updates on individuals’ status that affect billing processes.
• Oversee the self-inspection process for licensed Life Sharing homes.
• Work closely with the Quality Management department regarding incidents, investigations, and quality initiatives.
• Report all suspected or alleged incidents of abuse or neglect per the Incident Management policy.
• Ensure Providers fulfill their annual 24-hour training requirements.
• Attend DHS Certified Investigator Training and participate in investigations.

• Master’s degree in administration, special education, psychology, social work, or a related field, plus a minimum of two (2) years of administrative/supervisory experience and one (1) year of direct experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD); OR Bachelor’s degree in the above fields, plus a minimum of four (4) years of administrative/supervisory experience and two (2) years of direct experience working with individuals with IDD.

• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to pass and maintain required background checks (FBI, PA Child Abuse, and PA State Police Criminal History).
• Possession of a valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to meet approved driver status requirements.
• Certified Investigator within one year of start date.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position directly supervises Life Sharing Coordinators.

Reasoning Ability:

• Ability to interpret and follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.
• Skilled in handling multiple variables in standardized situations and problem-solving with practical solutions.

Computer Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Willingness to learn state and agency software programs (e.g., HCSIS, Enterprise Incident Management System).

Work Environment:

• Work in a variety of environments, with low exposure to adverse weather conditions.
• Moderate noise levels in office settings.
• May require occasional crisis intervention.
• Must be available for flexible hours based on workload and program needs.

Physical Demands:

• Regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds, and rarely over 100 pounds with assistance.
• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and speaking.
• Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Hazards:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may face low exposure risks to blood borne pathogens, with a low exposure risk to hazardous materials.

The weekly schedule for this exempt (salaried) position is Monday - Friday regular business hours with the expectation of some flexibility based off operational needs.

Experience
