QMHP Position Description
General Responsibilities: The individual will be responsible for monitoring the daily operation of a counseling community-based program for individuals s between the ages 18 years and older.
l QMHP’s.
The QMHP following roles to include:
- Provides supervision of mental health consumers
- Create ISP with a team along with Quarterlies
- Follow A structured program of care
- Records review
- Conducting and approving assessments
- Prescreening, admitting and discharge planning
- Overseeing the development and implementation of Individualized Service Plans for Mental Health services
- Ensuring protocol for nutrition, medication management, health and safety
- Providing community engagement to consumers to teach proper social skills
- Investigating abuse/complaints
- Administering the standards of conduct
- Coordinating services with out side case management
- Scheduling and attending in-services
- Conducting annual recertification and other trainings
- Empower Consumers with appropriate intervention in ISP
- Demonstrating practical experience in behavior management
- Writing reports and updating policies and procedures
- Work as center based staff providing psychosocial groups
Knowledge, skills, and Abilities:
- Experience managing a individuals with mental health disorders and possibly other related disabilities
- Ability to monitor services provided by consultants and conduct team meetings
- Experienced in personnel management, HIPPA and records management, developing and implementing Individualized Service Plans, conducting and approving assessments, prescreening, and discharge planning
- Familiarity with regulations governed by DBHDS and Offices of Human Rights, Department of Social Services, Department of Labor, Community Service Boards, First Aid and CPR
- Must have skills in supervising individuals with Mental Health Disorders coupled with other varying issues
- Preparation of staff performance evaluations
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Strong documentation skills
- Monitoring behavioral plans
- Maintain safety standards for the center
- Ensuring current staff certification and ongoing training, monitoring active treatment for individuals s and ensuring their safety
- Maintain compliance with regulations by the Fair Labor Laws, Office of Human Rights, OSHA, Workers Compensation and Fair Labor Laws, Equal employment Opportunities, American Disabilities Act and polices of The Empowerment Center, LLC
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in social work, psychology, counseling or education and 1 years of full-time paid work experience with individuals that have mental health disorders.
- Must a valid Virginia driver’s license and a copy of a current driving record from DMV, submit to and pass a drug screening, a criminal background investigation, and a registry search.
- Certifications are required for QMHP Certification, Therapeutic Options, First Aid, CPR, Medication Management, and Food Handler.
- An offer of employment May be made. However, is contingent upon the satisfactory outcome of a criminal background investigation, drug screening, and a registry search by the Department of Social Services.
