What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Agent position at The Francis?
We are looking for an upbeat, friendly and flexible front desk staff who works evenings and days on at our Boutique Hotel, The Francis. This person is filling an inn-keeper like role. This position requires daily front desk administrative duties, concierge responsibilities and actively assisting with the operations of the hotel. Operations includes cleaning bathrooms and common spaces, washing and folding laundry, room inspections, dish washing, organizing, restocking and ordering supplies.

Job
Responsibilities

Perform all check-in and check-out tasks

Manage online and phone reservations

Inform customers about payment methods and verify their credit card data

Register guests collecting necessary information (like contact details and exact dates of their stay)

Welcome guests upon their arrival and assign rooms

Provide information about our hotel, available rooms, rates, and amenities

Respond to clients’ complaints in a timely and professional manner

Liaise with our housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy, and fully-furnished to accommodate guests’ needs

Confirm group reservations and arrange personalized services for VIP customers and event attendees, like wedding guests

Upsell additional facilities and services, when appropriate

Maintain updated records of bookings and payments
- Answer emails and voicemails in a timely manner
- Wash dishes, clean common spaces, assist with laundry, stripping rooms, re-stocking mini-bars, clean bathrooms, restock dishes and food items
- Order supplies and food items from different vendors, collect mail, send mail
- Take detailed notes and communicate to guests, managers and other staff daily
Qualifications

Prior experience as a Hotel Front Desk Agent, Receptionist, Innkeeper or similar role

Experience with hotel reservations software, like OnQ, Opera, StaynTouch, Room Master, etc.
- Experience responding to emails, texts and use of Microsoft Word, Excel and other online platforms

Customer service experience

Excellent communication and organizational skills
