JOB SUMMARY:
Works with the Hospital Authority of Miller County’s new, current and former employees to assist in the hiring, administration, education and training processes. Assist Staffing Development and Education Coordinator with planning and supervision of facility wide education.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the mission and vision of the organization.
- Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs).
- Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
- Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
GENERAL SKILLS:
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Additional languages preferred.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- Basic Computer Skills
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels.
- May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights.
- May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids, or infectious organisms.
- May be required to change from one task to another or different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
- Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.
- May be scheduled as needed including overtime.
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS & DEMANDS:
- Have near normal hearing: Hear alarms/telephone/normal speaking voice.
- Have near normal vision: Clarity of vision (both near and far), ability to distinguish colors.
- Have good manual dexterity.
- Have good eye-hand foot coordination.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks/motion.
- Continuously within shift (67-100%): Standing, Walking.
- Frequently within shift (34-66%): Bending/Stooping, Pushing/Pulling, Lift/carry up to 20lbs, Lift/carry > 20 lbs. with assistance.
- Occasionally within shift (1-33%): Sitting, Climbing, Twist at waist, Lift/Carry > 50 lbs. with assistance, Reaching above shoulder.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
- Maintains orderly, systemic employee personnel files to meet regulatory standards: pre-employment, employment phase, and post-employment.
- Answers telephone for department, relays messages as needed, sets up appointments.
- Maintains accurate filing system according to filing chart with timely filing of forms.
- Makes copies of files as needed; submits requested information and data in a timely manner.
- Adheres to all aspects of confidentiality in regard to federal and state laws; including HIPPA,
- Privacy Laws, and Organizational policies and procedures.
- Promptly responds to all HR requests for assistance and information.
- Displays positive characteristics, and conducts himself/herself in a professional manner at all times.
- Adheres to professional dress code.
- Wears identification while on duty.
- Assist with general orientation of new hire.
- Assist with intake of student and training program participant data and pre- screening prior to any onset of clinical rotation and/or worker training program activities.
- Maintains personal work area in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Works as a HR team member to improve the department’s goals, duties, and practices by suggestions, new ideas or creative changes to old ideas.
- Refers any identified personnel issues with legal implications to Human Resources Director.
- Assist HR Management with posting of notices and collection and logging of HR data.
- Assists employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
- Responds to reference checks and verifications of employment status.
- Assists the manager with HR projects.
- Assists with benefits administration.
- Local Travel to various worksites is required.
- Any additional training preferred.
- Willingness to obtain or participate in training.
- Assists and supports all staff retention efforts.
- Maintains employee and organizational confidentiality.
- Uses accurate, clear and concise oral and written communication. Maintains thorough documentation of HR activities
- Maintains a sensitive, fair and impartial approach to dealing with employees.
- All other duties as assigned by HR Management.

- Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
- Communications the mission, ethics and goals of the facility, as well as the focus statement of the department.
