The HR Specialist at The Learning Tree ABA plays a pivotal role in fostering a positive workplace culture by managing employee relations, supporting recruitment efforts, and ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws. This individual will assist in coordinating HR functions, improving staff retention, and supporting organizational goals in alignment with the company’s mission to provide exceptional ABA services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment and Onboarding:
  • Assist in developing and posting job descriptions for various roles, including RBTs, BCBAs, and administrative staff.
  • Conduct onboarding sessions, ensuring new hires are equipped with the tools and knowledge to succeed.
  1. Employee Relations:
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns and address workplace issues promptly.
  • Mediate conflicts and foster positive communication between team members.
  • Celebrate employee milestones and oversee initiatives to enhance job satisfaction and morale.
  1. HR Compliance and Documentation:
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws, including regulations specific to ABA therapy practices.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including contracts, certifications, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee leave management and ensure compliance with FMLA and other applicable policies.
  1. Benefits Administration:
  • Support benefits enrollment and answer employee questions related to health insurance, retirement plans, and other offerings.
  • Track and manage paid time off (PTO) and floating holiday requests.
  1. Training and Development:
  • Collaborate with the training department to coordinate professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Monitor mandatory certifications (e.g., RBT renewals) and assist employees in meeting requirements.
  1. Performance Management:
  • Assist in the implementation of performance reviews and provide recommendations for professional growth.
  • Recognize outstanding employee performance through appreciation programs.
  1. Special Projects:
  • Coordinate and execute employee engagement events, such as appreciation days and company-wide meetings.
  • Support the HR Manager with special initiatives that align with organizational objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience in human resources, preferably in healthcare, education, or ABA settings.
  • Familiarity with HR software and systems (e.g., ADP, Smartsheets).
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an ABA company or similar healthcare organization.
  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP).
