- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Governmental and fund accounting principles and higher education policies and procedures.
- Attention to detail.
- MS Office products, ERP systems for budget, finance, and human resources.
- Assist with daily operational tasks of the Budget Office.
- Communicate effectively.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Research and resolution of customer inquiries/assigned tasks.
- Experience in higher education budgeting processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of governmental fund accounting.
- Knowledge of basic budgeting principles.
- Experience with SAP.
- Ability to work with large data sets in Excel using advanced spreadsheet skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- Ability to work under general supervision, learn quickly, multitask and prioritize workload and readjust as needed.
The Administrative Budget Specialist manages and coordinates budget and financial matters for a specific department.
Job Duties
- Process basic budget functions, create departmental budget adjustments, daily RIB processing, uses of reserves, and estimated income.
- Provide research and resolutions for departmental over budgets including back office hard stops.
- Assist with the creation of process documentation for budget and master data functions.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment providing departmental assistance when needed and cross training other analyst on master data specific SAP task.
