Regional Materials Manager
Position Profile
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Supply Chain, the Regional Materials Manager oversees the flow of materials from procurement to distribution, ensuring the right materials are available to meet production and customer needs. This leader will develop, implement, and maintain procurement strategies to balance quality, cost, and supply continuity with a systems driven approach consistent across all sites. The individual will work collaboratively with the Operations teams with a focus on ensuring inventory levels support changing demand while protecting the company’s working capital interest.

The Regional Materials Manager develops and refines a forecasting process to lead the planning of materials for each site. They are responsible for monitoring and managing inventory levels, ensuring that there is neither excess nor a shortage, which could impact production schedules. They provide guidance to material coordinators within their region to ensure the corporate inventory strategy meets the site’s needs. This individual is a key contributor to the S&OP process – providing insight to current inventory levels and material market conditions. This role will lead to the establishment of inventory levels in the ERP system to enable MRP; frequently review stocking levels and identifying potential risks proactively.

Responsibilities
- Maintains inventory levels to ensure deliveries occur within customer timelines.
- Maintains and ensures accuracy of the perpetual inventory system.
- Works with the purchasing department to schedule delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Collaborating with other departments such as production, finance, and quality control to ensure that material requirements are met.
- Reviews current market conditions related to but not limited to cost, availability and quality.
- Preparing detailed reports on inventory operations, stock levels, and adjustments for upper management and stakeholder review.
- Optimize intercompany transfers to reduce cost while ensuring the optimal supply chain
- Contribute to the S&OP process – identifying incoming materials and inventory level requirements needed to support the Operations plan.

Education, Experience, Skills
- Bachelor’s degree required in an applicable field – Business Management, Supply Chain. MBA a plus Page 2 of 2 Experience:
- 3-5 years experience in multi-site materials planning
- APICS certification preferred
- Experience with ERP systems, EPICOR preferred.
- Solid knowledge and experience in all operational disciplines, particularly in planning, procurement, logistics and integrated systems
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
- Able to present complex theoretical concepts and empirical performance data effectively to a variety of audiences
- Exhibits strong leadership skills with particular emphasis on relationship development
- Ability to communicate and present to multiple management levels.
- Excellent analytical skills with a high attention to detail
- Microsoft Office skills including advanced Excel skills.
- Prior ERP implementations / improvement initiatives required
- Proficiency in MRP and ERP systems inventory control, materials requirements planning, item master, demand planning, and advanced supply chain planning and analytics preferred
- Data-driven with demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems and strong proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of industry best practices for S&OP, and value chain analytics
