Established in 2002, the Thousand Islands Winery® has established itself as a regional landmark in the Thousand Islands region of New York. Thousand Islands Winery is the largest wine producer in the Thousand Islands and is located in Alexandria Bay, NY. It is a premium wine making facility with production, farming, and wine distribution operations. In 2009, it was named as New York’s “Winery of the Year” by the New York Wine and Grape Foundation.
The Thousand Islands Winery® has an immediate opening for an Tasting Room Assistant Manager. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently and be able to use their own initiative to perform all management and public relations job responsibilities relating to tasting room operations, retail sales, and on site events.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Tasting room consumer and public relations
- All customer service aspects relating to tasting room operations; including customer questions, complaints, and checking IDs
- Accountability of wine inventories for retail and tasting purposes
- Create purchase orders for retail sales
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of tasting room
- Solicit and coordinate special wine tastings and wine events
- Tracking and improving tasting room sales
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Prior experience, qualifications and/or skills:
- Applicant must be at least 21 years of age
- Applicant must be able to lift 40 pounds and conduct walking tours
- Must have weekend availability
- Prior management and customer service experience preferred
- Experience with inventory management and recording helpful
- Working knowledge of computer software including Square POS
- Strong written, verbal, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines while working on numerous on-going projects simultaneously

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
