What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parks Technician position at Town of Breckenridge?
Duties include, but are not limited to: Driving and operating Town vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with local laws and ordinances, and Town standards and guidelines for Parks Technicians; Maintaining public grounds by applying herbicides and pesticides as needed; Performing complex irrigation repairs on Town-owned property including installation of systems; Preparing athletic fields to specific dimensions by measuring, raking, dragging, chalking, and painting lines; Maintaining public grounds by picking up litter, sweeping, and general care-taking; Assisting in the upkeep and preventative maintenance of specialized Town property, (i.e., street lights, signs, benches, foot bridges, play equipment, trash/recycle receptacles, etc.); Additionally, the individual in this role will be responsible for recordkeeping duties consisting of safety data sheet information, vehicle safety information, etc. For additional information regarding this position including important roles, essential job duties, knowledge, skills and abilities required, materials and equipment used, working environment, and physical activity required, please view the full position description.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:- High School diploma or GED required.
- Must be able to pass a background check at time of hire.
- Valid Colorado Driver's License and an acceptable MVR required.
- One (1) year of customer service or field experience with a focus in the areas of irrigation or noxious weed control preferred.
- Specialized training in any of the following areas desired: irrigation, construction, pesticide application, and/or related equipment operation.
- Public works experience and/or general knowledge of the Town's infrastructure, or equivalent combination of skills and experience is desired.
Full Pay Range: $$24.00 - $31.50 per hour.
WORK SCHEDULE
Must be able to work shifts that may include days, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed up to 40 hours per week or as needed at the discretion of management. All work schedules, hours and dates of work are at the discretion of the Town and may be altered at any time.
