What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Warranty Manager position at Transwest Inc?
The Assistant Warranty Manager is responsible for providing administrative support to the warranty department, all branches, makes and models for Transwest and Boyer locations, including automotive. This will include reporting to the Director of Warranty, Service Managers, Director of Service, and Corporate Operations Manager. This person will monitor warranty GL for all branches, assist the Director in coding and invoicing warranty repairs, work with and monitor warranty office staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answer incoming phone calls to ensure all calls are answered within a timely manner (three rings).
- Communicate with customers and office staff to solve any warranty issues.
- Communicate with shop foreman and service technicians on warranty repairs, proper repair procedures, stories, etc.
- Communicate with warranty staff to resolve problems with claims.
- Monitor the closing of warranty tickets, assist in the closing of tickets, and ensure all tickets are closed by the end of business daily.
- Monitor the warranty tickets in DTNA for corrections needed, drafts, and denied claims.
- Assist with putting away warranty parts and verifying warranty tags.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all vendors, requirements for filing claims, and continuous training for all manufacturers.
- Train warranty staff on proper protocols and procedures.
- Ability to obtain and prepare literature from manufacturers for Technicians and Foreman to perform diagnostic techniques.
- Other duties as assigned by the manager.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
- Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time.
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment.
- Ability to communicate by providing verbal feedback in a professional manner.
- Ability to receive and analyze data and input into the computer.
- Normal range of hearing and vision.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver's License and MVR in good standing.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- Detail oriented.
- Experience working with heavy-duty warranty and service is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer proficiency.
- Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.
