Manager

Manager: Uncle David’s is a non-profit that provides an extraordinary ice cream experience for organizations, businesses, community events and serving people in Rehoboth Beach. Our employees work side by side to create a team environment to ensure customers receive the best ice cream experience. As Uncle David’s employee, you will have an opportunity to meet new people while serving ice cream in a fun environment.

Rehoboth Avenue shop will have a small team of ice cream servers that will be supported by a shift leader and manager. The shop will not only have you apart of scooping ice cream, adding toppings, making milk shakes, but will include customer service at register and social connection when handing ice cream to customers.

Duties & Expectations

• Hire, train, and supervise staff.
• Ensure adherence to DOH and safety regulations.
• Provide customer service.
• Monitor/track inventory and order supplies.
• Maintain records of sales and stock.
• Develop and implement promotions and marketing strategies.
• Oversee maintenance of equipment.
• Manage daily operations of the shop.

Skills and Competencies to Have

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Knowledge of ice cream flavors and ingredients.
• Ability to manage staff, including scheduling and training.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of inventory management and ordering supplies.
• Ability to handle cash and process payments accurately.
• Ability to handle customer complaints.
• Knowledge of marketing and promotional strategies.

Ability to Train Staff (Rehoboth Beach Shop)

· Teach how to scoop into cup, make sundaes, make milk shakes, make waffle cones, scoop into cones, and add toppings.

· Teach about supplies and how to stock shop equipment.

· Teach “Square” point of sale system and learn about electronic pay and cash sales.

· Teach sanitation standards and safety standards.

Note: all Teaching opportunities will be modified to meet individual’s abilities.

Qualifications:

• 18 years or older and registered with an adult provider.
• Have transportation to/from work event.
• Access to a phone that can text, make call for scheduling.
• Capable of scooping hard ice cream and adding toppings.
• Willing to wear a mask/gloves while working if required.
• Available to work weekends, evenings.
• Be flexible with schedule
• Standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and scooping.
• Able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and pushcart.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
