Position Overview:

Oversees the organization and storage of inventory and materials for shipment Tracks shipments and follows up on missing items, damaged materials, or incorrect shipments. Coordinates with managers to meet the delivery requirements of different departments. Ensures that Shipping operations are in accordance with established procedures and policies. Key Responsibilities:
1. Assumes responsibility for the planning, development, and implementation of effective Transportation & Warehouse planning, policies, and procedures.
- Assists Management with long and short term planning.
- Executes established operational goals and ensures that Transportation policies support and complement Company strategies, mission, vision, and values.
- Assists in developing policies and procedures for Transportation. Conducts periodic reviews of existing policies and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Ensures that deliveries are processed efficiently.
- Ensures that excellent, professional communications are maintained with customers. Ensures that all customers’ expectations are met or exceeded.
- Interprets and distributes client messages to employees.
- Ensures that Transportation functions are completed in accordance with Company policies and procedures and client standards. Performs periodic checks.
- Ensures on-time delivery of products or services.
- Identifies, researches, and permanently resolves Transportation and customer service problems.
- Tracks and resolves problems involving damaged goods, incorrect orders, and missing goods.
- Directs inventory procedures and controls. Maintains stock at cost effective levels.
- Ensures that Warehouse materials are rotated and stored properly.
- Oversees order filling processes and related documentation. Completes and signs off on shipping.
- Manages Warehouse space planning. Ensures that the Warehouse layout will accommodate present and future storage requirements.
- Ensures that OSHA requirements are effectively implemented and maintained.
- Ensures that Warehouse facilities are clean and orderly.
- Ensures that company vehicles are in safe operating condition. Schedules preventive maintenance with the Director of Facilities & Equipment as appropriate.
- Supervises and schedules the maintenance and cleaning of vehicles.
- Ensures Warehouse security.
- Acts as a liaison between the Company and external contacts.
- Ensures that requests and problems are promptly and courteously resolved.
- Ensures effective coordination of external delivery services with Company operations.
- Obtains and conveys information as appropriate.
- Promotes goodwill and a positive image of the Company.
- Provides leadership to assigned personnel through effective objective setting, delegation, and communication. Conducts regular meetings to ensure that personnel are well informed of changes in policies and procedures. Conducts meetings to inform, train, and seek solutions for identified problems. - EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High school graduate or equivalent.
- Additional related maintenance and facility management training preferred.
- REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Excellent understanding of inventory control and management procedures.
- Understanding of Company operations.
- Knowledge of budgeting, supply contracts, and shipping requirements.
- EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Five or more years of related experience, with at least two or more years of supervisory experience
- SKILLS/ABILITIES: Excellent leadership abilities.
