What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Assistant II (Part-Time) position at University of Arizona?
The Accounting Assistant is part of a collaborative finance team at the College of Medicine-Tucson, assisting the Department of Pediatrics in multiple units with the processing of financial resources, ensuring compliance with university polices and procedures, and performing a broad range of accounting functions with responsibility for accounting records. Performs functions moderately complex and recognizes the need to apply various methods to accomplish tasks. Work consists of activities that are routine. Performs work under supervision and receives detailed instructions from Supervisor when performing new duties.

- Monitor and reconcile various transactions such as P-Card, travel reimbursements and disbursement vouchers.
- Initiate transactions in UAccess Financials such as General Error Corrections (GEC), Distribution of Income and Expense (DI), and Salary Expense Transfers (SET).
- Account reconciliation and projections, reviews accounts monthly using established department procedures.
- Guide and assist Faculty and Staff with non-routine questions that require interpretation of complex policies and requirements with issues regarding their accounts.
- Other duties as assigned.

- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
- Three (3) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
- Previous experience in Accounting Role.
- Experience with UA Purchasing Card and Procurement policies and procedures.
- Experience with UA Systems such as UAccess, Financials, and Analytics.
- Three or more years of experience working with accounting principles.
