Position Summary
The University of Central Arkansas Lecturer is responsible for teaching, research and service. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency / institution policy. The position is non-tenure track and a ten-month appointment. Job Duties and Responsibilities The Director of the Baum Gallery job duties and responsibilities will be overseeing the overall operations of the gallery. This includes scheduling exhibitions for each academic year along with the support of the Baum Gallery Exhibition Committee, maintaining the facilities of the four galleries ensuring the walls and floor are cleaned and prepped for each of the exhibition the gallery houses during the academic year. Other responsibilities include hanging, displaying, and caring for the works of art on exhibit as well as receiving and returning works of art after the end of the exhibition. The Gallery Director will be teaching one class (Museum Studies) each semester as part of his teaching duties as part of the Art & Design Faculty. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -Knowledge of Power Lift, use of tools for installing exhibitions-Knowledge of Grant Writing for outside funding sources-Knowledge of the organization and administration of higher education-Knowledge of state, federal, and university rules, regulations, and procedures-Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment-Ability to work collaboratively and independently with common goals as a part of a team-Ability to make sound judgments Skills Considered Essential for Success -Knowledge of the organization and administration of higher education.
