Job Summary

The program coordinator assists and coordinates the programs, events, and communications for both the Honors College and University College. Most importantly, the program coordinator manages all communications (social media, student stories, and the newsletter) for Honors, and this person organizes, plans, and coordinates programs in Honors College and University College, including the Honors Medallion Ceremonies, Honors Convocation, Welcome Back events, and the Murphy Center for Public Service lectures. Additionally, this program coordinator helps with Honors recruitment events, including Academic Showcase days and summer orientation sessions. This person will also assist with administrative tasks for the Honors College and University College.

Responsibilities

Coordinates academic and experiential programs, events, schedules, and communications for University College and the Honors College; Plan, organize, and coordinate academic programs both in-person and virtually for University College, Honors College, Department of General Education, and Murphy Center for Public Service (examples: leadership training programs, speaker lecture series, academic showcases, Honors Scholars Day, Honors Convocation, At the Core Conference, leadership/fellows sessions, etc.); communicate with students; coordinate program logistics, including set-ups, virtual platforms, and staffing. Manage programs/experiences' marketing and communications, program registration, and guest inquiries. Responsible for social media communication and Honors College newsletter and student/alumni communications. Staff evening and weekend programs and training, as required. Recruit and coordinate volunteers to support the program logistics. Organize the colleges' program calendar. Organize and Plan with Dean/Associate Deans and Honors staff the ¿academic excellence experiences¿ ¿ leadership sessions/workshops.

Coordinate with Student Affairs, University Communications and Marketing, and other University areas on programs/events/ student experience opportunities. Liaise with external partners/alumni to participate in programs/trainings/workshops.

Develop and implement communications, marketing plans and strategies for unit exposure and programs while exercising sound judgment. Work with Dean's office to coordinate the marketing of all UC/Honors programs, experiences, and events.

Other duties and administrative tasks as assigned

1.1 -
Responsible for orchestrating meetings with campus partners and vendors to plan for the safety and satisfaction of both clients and patrons attending these programs and events. Routinely represents the unit at campus collaboration meetings. Supervise, provide direction and leadership for student personnel. Analyze attendance, gather feedback for improvement, and provide metrics to the Dean/Assoicate Deans/ Director/ Program Manager and Administrative Manager of the colleges as requested.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience
2-3 years' experience in program coordination, program logistical implementation and execution, program planning and execution; experience working in higher education and/or business. Strong leadership, communication, organizational skills. Ability to adjust to change and diverse responsibilities and the ability to take directions and communicate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Experience
3 years¿ experience in academic programming and execution; 2 years¿ experience working in higher education.

Proposed Salary

Salary is commensurate with experience.
