Position Summary
This is a shared position with an expected end date of 11/7/2025, which will provide human resources support for UW-River Falls and UW-Stout during their transition to Workday.
Under the general supervision of the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), the HR Generalist will support the Human Resources department in preparing for the organization’s transition from PeopleSoft to Workday. This role will assist with data validation, process documentation, training preparation, and system testing to ensure a smooth and efficient implementation. The incumbent will work collaboratively with HR leadership, functional teams, and stakeholders to facilitate the transition while ensuring compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and validation of HR data for migration from PeopleSoft to Workday.
- Support HR teams in operationalizing future HR processes.
- Help develop training materials and assist in training sessions for HR staff and end users.
- Collaborate with HR team members to identify gaps and opportunities for process improvement.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and university employment policies during the transition.
- Provide general HR support, including responding to employee inquiries related to the Workday transition.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the successful implementation of Workday.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years’ work experience in Human Resources.
- Effective oral and written communication skills to communicate and foster inclusivity and respect.
- Ability to work independently, plan and organize complex tasks, problem solve, establish priorities and complete multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts and foster teamwork.
- Ability to read, analyze and comprehend information and make effective decisions.
- Proficient in the use of word processing (MS Word), spreadsheets (MS Excel), presentation software (MS PowerPoint), e-mail, Internet and enterprise resource information systems such as Oracle/PeopleSoft/Workday.
VALUED BUT NOT REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resources.
- Professional in Human Resources or SHRM certification.
- Experience in higher education and/or public service.
- Experience with Workday Human Resource Information System.

The starting salary is $51,000, depending on experience.
