Position Summary:
The Enterprise Director of Revenue Cycle will oversee the end-to-end revenue cycle management process for the enterprise, ensuring the maximization of revenue, reduction of operational inefficiencies, and compliance with regulations. The Director will collaborate with practice leadership to coordinate all aspects of revenue cycle operations throughout the organization, including billing, coding, claims management, insurance follow-up, patient accounts, and customer service. This role will involve strategic planning, process optimization, and collaboration across departments to ensure seamless financial operations across our multiple practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Strategy:
- Leads the enterprise RCM strategy and the integration of best practices throughout the local market.
- Develop and implement revenue cycle strategies to improve financial performance, cash flow, and revenue capture.
- Drive initiatives for operational efficiency, reduce claim denials, and optimize billing processes.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align revenue cycle objectives with the organizations financial goals and business strategies.
Integration:
o Drives all process and system RCM integration needs.
o Provides continuous oversight and management to the pre-planning and post-implementation RCM needs.
- Performance Optimization:
o Provides oversight to performance management to RCM activities throughout the enterprise to create optimization.
- Develop and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve revenue cycle performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement best practices, policies, and procedures to maintain a high level of operational effectiveness.
- Team Management:
- Collaborate across the organization with practice level revenue cycle professionals to ensure process excellence and consistent outcomes; travels as needed to practice locations for onsite partnerships and optimization work.
- Provide training and development opportunities to ensure the team is up-to-date with changes in coding regulations, payer requirements, and industry trends.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment focused on meeting goals and enhancing productivity.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with clinical, financial, and operational teams to address billing-related issues, denials, and payment delays.
- Collaborate with IT and data management teams to ensure seamless integration of revenue cycle technologies and data reporting systems.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for RCM vendor management.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the patient experience and increase revenue capture.
- Evaluate and deploy new technologies, tools, and systems to optimize revenue cycle operations.
- Work closely with auditors to remediate and address findings to ensure billing and coding accuracy, regulatory compliance, and process efficiency.
- Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on revenue cycle performance, identifying trends, challenges, and opportunities.
- Develop forecasts, budgets, and operational metrics to track the financial health of the organization.
- Lead efforts to improve cash flow and reduce the aging of accounts receivable.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.
6-8 years in Revenue Cycle leadership.
NextGen experience preferred.
Competencies:
- Proven experience in managing large, complex revenue cycle operations across multiple locations.
- Strong understanding of healthcare billing, coding, payer requirements, and insurance reimbursement processes.
Skills:
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Expertise in revenue cycle management software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and electronic health records (EHR) platforms.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Deep knowledge of regulatory compliance, including HIPAA, ICD-10, CPT coding, and payer guidelines.
