Regional Quality Manager
Position Summary:
The Regional Quality Manager (“RQM”) is responsible for driving improvement of Ventek Solutions’ quality management system (QMS). The RQM will establish and implement customer requirements company wide, drive standardization across multiple plants, products and services and provide quality leadership for new product launches.
The role will lead a team of Quality Managers in the US and Mexico and will require travel up to 60% of the time. To achieve success in the role, the individual will have the ability to build positive relationships and outcomes with customers, suppliers and internal cross-functional teams. In addition, the individual will be a leader and influencer of a continuous improvement culture across the organization.
The position will report to the Manufacturing Manager and can be located near our manufacturing locations in Michigan, Kentucky, Ohio or Tennessee to include: Tullahoma, TN; Owosso, Michigan; Findlay, Ohio; Mt. Pleasant, TN; or Shelbyville, KY.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Leads and manages Plant Quality Managers, providing coaching, development, training and support as needed to establish plant quality management systems.
- Lead cross-functional teams to identify root cause analysis and develop corrective actions for internal and external product failures.
- Monitors, scores, and develops improvement plans for Preventive and Corrective action systems.
- Represents Ventek with customers on major quality and process improvement initiatives for all plants within the company.
- Responsible for assuring all productivity-driven projects maintain standards and continue to meet customer requirements.
- Approves changes for product and processes within the industry.
- Leads all third party and customer audit activities within the industry market segment.
- Conducts field product audits for market segments to identify performance capability.
- Assures product safety compliance for the market segment and sub-contractors.
- Leads the supplier and company product quality audits.
- Provides Lean Six Sigma project leadership and/or mentoring for plants.
- Drives continuous improvement model for plants on current continuum.
- Maintains IATF 16949 and ISO 14000 for all manufacturing sites within Ventek Solutions
- Provides quarterly reviews and scorecards for customers in the market segment.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 4-year degree in Engineering or Operations/Quality;
- 10 years professional experience in a Quality Manager or similar role
- 3 years leadership experience directly managing a team, across multiple locations preferred
- Prior work experience in automotive manufacturing preferred
- ASQ CMQ/OE or ASQ CQE certification, with ability to obtain future certifications as needed
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred, leading a continuous improvement culture required
- Project Management experience;
- Excellent statistical analysis and superior verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Word, Power Point, Excel, MS Project, Visio, Share Point, SPC software & Agile.
- Experience using ERP systems
- Ability to travel approximately 60% annually
- Must be authorized to work in the US
- Must have valid driver’s license and passport
