Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide individualized care to patients struggling with addiction and related behavioral health issues. This role requires a strong understanding of substance abuse treatment modalities and a commitment to helping patients achieve long-term recovery.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify treatment needs and develop individualized plans.
- Utilize ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems to document patient diagnoses and medical records.
- Provide evidence-based behavioral health interventions, including individual and group counseling sessions.
- Manage patient cases to ensure continuity of care and monitor progress toward treatment goals.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations to identify underlying issues contributing to substance abuse.
- Develop and implement behavior management strategies to help patients manage triggers and maintain sobriety.
- Collect and analyze data to inform treatment decisions and improve patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
- Educate patients and their families about addiction, treatment options, and recovery strategies.
Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as psychology, social work, or counseling.
- A Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Licensure or certification as a substance abuse counselor or a related field.
- Proven experience working with patients with substance abuse disorders.
- Experience with behavioral health treatment modalities, including individual and group counseling.
- Strong understanding of ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple patients.
- Knowledge of case management and data collection principles.
- Experience with data analysis and interpretation.
- Familiarity with behavioral health concepts, including behavioral management and diagnostic evaluation.
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
- A strong commitment to helping patients achieve long-term recovery and a passion for working in the field of behavioral health.

Pay: $34.00 - $36.00 per hour
