Job Description
Wabasha Brewing Company is looking for a part-time Bartender and Brewery Support person to work in our taproom and brewery in Saint Paul, MN. (around 15-25 hours a week; nights and weekend availability required) The Wabasha Brewing taproom is open 7 days a week and offers a variety of beers on tap and to-go. We're looking for someone that loves people, beer, and working hard to join our team. The candidate will need to be able to work nights and weekends and will ideally have some experience in the beer industry and/or bar operations.
Essential job duties and responsibilities
● Greet and engage guests in a timely, friendly matter and be attentive to their needs/requests throughout their stay
● Perform daily taproom duties such as opening and closing the bar, maintaining taproom cleanliness, and running/washing dishes
● Assist with taproom events, planning, and promotions both in person and via social media
● Make beer recommendations, pour beer, and ensure customers have a great time in the taproom
● Filling Crowlers and Growlers
● Record transactions using our point-of-sale system and maintain responsibility for cash and record-keeping during shifts
● Cook and serve frozen pizzas
● Occasionally help out in the brewery with packaging and labelling beer
● Be an active, positive member of the Wabasha team and keep up to date on new products, processes, and upcoming events
● Adhere to and enforce all applicable local, state and federal laws, rules, and regulations
Required skills and qualifications
● Service Industry Experience, especially at a brewery taproom is highly preferred
● Availability to work primarily weekends and nights
● Excellent customer service skills and love having conversations with guests and teammates
● Knowledge of craft beer and brewing is a huge plus
● Be comfortable in a noisy and fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of care
● Attentive to detail and diligent when it comes to cash handling and cleaning
● Collaborates well with others and is a team player
● Able to lift up to 40 pounds, move kegs, and operate a hand dolly
● Able to move about the facility and stand for extended periods of time.
