Job Overview
Walkway to Healing is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Workforce Development Instructor to support our clients as they transition into the workforce. This role involves delivering engaging workshops and hands-on training to equip individuals in recovery with the tools and skills necessary to secure and maintain employment.
As part of our holistic approach to recovery, this position focuses on building confidence and professionalism through resume development, interview preparation, and workplace etiquette.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver job readiness workshops, including:
- Resume building and cover letter writing.
- Interview techniques and mock interview practice.
- Professional workplace etiquette and communication skills.
- Provide individualized support to clients in crafting resumes tailored to their career goals.
- Coach clients on strategies for job searching, networking, and self-presentation.
- Collaborate with case managers and counselors to align training sessions with clients' recovery and career goals.
- Maintain records of workshop attendance, client progress, and outcomes.
- Foster a supportive and encouraging environment that promotes client confidence and self-sufficiency.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Career Counseling, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
- Experience:
- At least 1 years of experience in career counseling, workforce development, or teaching job readiness skills.
- Experience working with individuals in recovery or other vulnerable populations preferred.
- Skills: Strong presentation and facilitation abilities, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to inspire and motivate clients in a supportive, non-judgmental manner.
- Additional Requirements:
- Familiarity with challenges faced by individuals in recovery when re-entering the workforce.
- Knowledge of current job market trends and hiring practices.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized training plans tailored to each client's needs and goals.
- Assist clients with daily living skills, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household management.
- Provide support in behavior management techniques to encourage positive interactions and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Facilitate social skills training to enhance clients' ability to interact effectively with others.
- Administer medication as needed and ensure proper documentation of medication management.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to create a supportive environment for clients.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any significant changes or concerns to the appropriate parties.
- Engage clients in recreational activities that promote physical health and social engagement.
Skills
- Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and practices.
- Experience in direct support roles, particularly in caregiving or special education settings.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
