What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Technician/Coordinator position at Waltonen?
Waltonen Engineering is actively seeking a Logistics Technician/Coordinator to join our team! This role involves supporting the disassembly of a military vehicle, which may include designing, scanning, and fabricating its components, followed by reassembly. The individual will act as the primary point of contact for the customer, managing calls and meetings. They will also ensure adherence to project timelines and deadlines, coordinate with Mechanics and Designers, act as a right hand to support the Program Manager, and may interface with manufacturing and fabrication functions as well.
Responsibilities
- Support the Program Manager in daily operations
- Perform inspection and troubleshooting of tracked and wheeled vehicle automotive systems as prescribed in Army technical manuals
- Assist with daily maintenance operations and ensure timely completion of tasks
- Provide technical support and guidance to the maintenance team
- Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment
- Maintain maintenance records, manage parts inventory, and order mandatory replacement parts and other supplies as needed
- Read and interpret technical drawings
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
- Serve as the focal point for the customer, handling calls, meetings, and ensuring clear communication
- Follow timelines to ensure project milestones and requested dates are met
- Collaborate with the Program Manager, mechanics, and designers as needed
Qualifications
- Experience supporting military (particularly Army) wheeled and tracked vehicle systems
- Familiarity with U.S. Army combat equipment maintenance
- In-depth knowledge of Army Field and Sustainment Level technical manuals
- Experience in coordinating maintenance activities
- Understanding of the U.S. Army supply system
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
