Watton Law Group seeks a motivated individual to join their fast-growing team in their downtown Milwaukee office. This individual will work alongside our large team of attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to help with the flow of clients’ cases. The applicant should have prior office experience to be hands-on from the start. This position offers an excellent working environment and vast opportunities for professional growth.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to attorneys and paralegals and enhance office effectiveness
- Answer, screen, direct, and/or ensure resolution of client calls
- Communicate with clients to remind them of deadlines and documents that are due
- Monitor deadlines and calendars
- Forward documents to appropriate parties (staff, clients, creditors, etc.)
- Manage tax return requirements of clients
- Manage client documents
- Prepare documents for attorney’s court appearances
- Perform clerical duties including, but not limited to, data entry, photocopying, faxing, scanning, mailing, printing, and filing
- Perform other duties necessary to support your team
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- 2 years of experience as an administrative assistant, legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm, organized, and accurate
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude
- Willingness to ask questions, learn, and adapt
- Computer literate
- Ability to work independently or with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and/or legal assistants
- Desire to help people and make a difference in individuals’ lives
- Dependable and responsible
