Position Title:                Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Intern


Location:                         Hybrid: Remote/Onsite at WGA I ESF Headquarters in Glenview, IL


Supervisor:                     Lindsay Dresser, Senior Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion


Term:                               May – Aug., 2025 (start and end date flexible), 40 hours per week


Compensation:              Hourly rate of $15/hour

Job Description

WGA I ESF is seeking Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Intern. This role will have primary accountability to promote a diverse and inclusive culture in all facets of the organization, including but not limited current Evans Scholars, WGA/ESF Staff, Youth Caddies, Volunteer Leadership, and Tournaments. The DEI Intern will report to the Senior Director of DEI.

By continuing to build and embrace a more diverse, equitable and inclusive WGA and Evans Scholars community — where everyone feels a sense of belonging — we strive to be a model platform that positively impacts the game of golf.


Position Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity to experience a wide range of responsibilities related to DEI, including:

·      Assist in supporting current Evans Scholars serving on E-Board as VP, DEI

·      Oversee monthly staff newsletter

·      Coordinate annual Young Women Caddie Summit

·      Aid in coordinating panels, DEI workshops, and education sessions with WGA I Staff, WGA Caddie Academies, and Caddie Scholar Prep as needed

·      Attend DEI committee and all-staff meetings

·      Review forms and documents to ensure inclusive language

·      Gather and input demographic data as needed

·      Assist in creative ideas for leveraging DEI initiatives

·      Attend local championship tournaments as needed

·      Participate in additional projects to support DEI initiatives

Education:

·      Pursuing a degree or relevant experience in Communications, Business, Marketing, Human Resources, Management, DEI, or similar field. 

·      DEI Certification a plus

Knowledge and Skills Required:

·      Passion for and commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive environment.

·      Demonstrated desire to build a culture of belonging. 

Competencies

·      Excellent oral and written communication skills

·      Experience with project management

·      Effective time management and prioritization skills

·      Detail oriented with strong organization and time management skills

·      Eagerness to build and maintain effective working relationships

·      Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with diverse teams

·      Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Teams)

·      Willingness to travel to events and championship sites as needed
