Overview
The ADOS is responsible for developing and fostering business through pro-active direct sales, marketing, telemarketing, direct mail, appointment calls and tours of the hotel. This position develops strategic action plans to drive measurable and incremental sales revenue to ensure all hotel revenue goals are achieved. Closely manage key accounts to meet or exceed guest expectations. Identify areas of opportunity and recommend tools, solutions, and sales training to optimize performance.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Influence group sales team to make group sales revenue goals as well as banquet and catering goals.
- Review business strategies to set activity goals; determine action plan to meet key objectives
- Update action plans (SMART Plan) and objectives quarterly
- Implements sales action plan(s) in assigned market areas as outlined in marketing plan.
- Target key accounts.
- Manage team to conducts sales calls and arrange site inspection trips to the hotel
- Influence team to provide quick and timely responses and immediate communication to develop professional long-term business relationships.
- Monitor lead response time on all business leads for the Hotel.
- Manage and develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop relationships within community to strengthen and expand customer base for the Hotel.
- Monthly group room sales forecasting suggestions to Director of Sales.
- Bi - weekly funnel review with the group sales team.
- Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times.
- Identify new markets and business opportunities to increase sales revenue.
- Monitor and implement sales travel for the team, for various events and exhibits.
- Participate in, face to face (in person) sales calls locally and in Houston, as directed by the DOS; sometimes with other members of the sales team to acquire new business and/or close on business.
- Execute and support operations aspects of business booked, to positively influence revenue in upsell by the conference service team.
- Support hotel service and relationship strategy, driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.
- Develop strong relationships with operations team to ensure working in unity and always striving to achieve similar goals.
- Attend all department and hotel meetings as necessary.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Three to five years of experience as a Group Sales Manager with a proven track record of success in multiple vertical markets.
- Knowledgeable on local markets and competitive markets within The Woodlands and Houston region.
- Must have knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
- Excellent written, spoken, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic and the ability to work in an environment that promotes autonomy, accountability and a collaborative team.
- Must have a knowledge applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations.
- Knowledgeable of the capabilities and limitations of the hotel and departments that may impact sales strategies.
- Possess 3-5 years experience with CITY and Delphi.
- Ability to timely obtain any required licenses or certificates.
- The ability to travel occasionally.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends, as needed.
- Provide the highest level of guest service to the hotel’s clients
- Promote the hotel through goodwill, courtesy and a positive attitude
- Attend all scheduled training classes and meetings

DESCRIPTION/DEGREE OF PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Sitting - Moderate: Ability to sit for prolonged periods.
- Standing - Ability to stand for long periods of time, up to 10 hours consecutively.

- Climbing - Modest: Lift, pivot and stretch, bend, squat and kneel with weight up to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Balancing - Often required to maintain balance while carrying weight and reaching.
- Stooping - Knees, back and lower body must be flexible enough for repetitious stooping as an ongoing function.
- Kneeling - Some kneeling on hard surfaces.
- Twisting - Continual demand of radius of 120 degrees, either direction from the waist, head, back or neck. Constant knee, hip, ankle and foot rotation.
- Reaching - Continual ability to reach above head with full arm, shoulder and hand extension and rotation.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
- Bachelors of Business Administration or Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, preferred.
- Minimum of three to five years hospitality sales experience is required, in a full-service group-oriented hotel.
