We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to lead our logistics operations in a fast-paced produce distribution environment. The ideal candidate will oversee inbound and outbound shipments, ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards, and manage a team to maintain efficiency and accuracy. This role is critical in optimizing warehouse operations, coordinating with vendors and carriers, and ensuring timely delivery of fresh produce to our customers. Schedule: Monday through Friday 10am to 7pm or until finished. Will work Saturdays if business dictates.

Essential Job Functions:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily shipping activities to ensure orders are prepared, verified, and shipped on time.
- Conduct a final check to verify pallet contents match the orders before shipment.
- Communicate with production to resolve shortages or discrepancies promptly, ensuring missing items are produced and added to pallets in a timely manner.
- Maintain schedules for outbound shipments, aligning with truck shipping times to prevent delays.
- Oversee all incoming shipments, verifying the accuracy of deliveries against purchase orders.
- Ensure raw materials are properly stored, added to inventory, and available for production teams.
- Communicate inventory levels and any discrepancies to the procurement and production teams.
- Monitor on-hand and on-order inventory levels to ensure adequate stock for order fulfillment and production.
- Use systems to track inventory usage and restock based on system quantities after shipments.
- Work with Production manager/planer to assist with building and maintaining inventory buffers based on forecasts to mitigate shortages.
- Ensure the warehouse and storage areas are organized and follow 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
- Align the warehouse layout with pallet-building processes to minimize unnecessary movement and improve efficiency.
- Implement and maintain a just-in-time pallet-building system to streamline operations.
- Train and supervise warehouse staff on proper handling, placement, and maintenance of finished goods and raw materials.
- Enforce adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the shipping and receiving teams.
- Investigate and resolve shipping errors, inventory discrepancies, and operational inefficiencies.
- Maintain accurate reports on shipping/receiving metrics, including on-time shipments, inventory accuracy, and labor efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency, bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Experience with inventory management systems and ERP software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures, including cold storage.
- Ability to lift fifty pounds and operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
