Job purpose, tasks and responsibilities
Our Global Risk team provide valuable intelligence on global developments to our clients & partners in the fields of insurance and risk management.
As our Global Risk Analyst, you will be primarily responsible for researching and writing reports on Political, Economic, Operational, Security and Environmental issues across a primary set of countries. Our analysts work on a range of countries around the world, but you will have a regional focus.
These reports or Country Risk Assessments, for your set of markets, sit within the General Section of Axco’s Insurance Market Report.
The responsibilities of this role include, but aren't limited to;
- Monitoring developments in political, economic, security, operational and environmental risk in your countries ensuring you can stay ahead of developing trends.
- Writing focussed analysis on global, regional, and country trends that may have repercussions on the operational environment.
- Presenting our analysis in an array of formats, from regular emails to long form reporting & webinars.
- Participating in product development within the team and the wider business as we look to produce additional metrics, reports and alerts to help clients understand their risk environment.
- Analysing numerical data to support conclusions and provide insight into emerging trends, from polling data to macroeconomics & demographics.
- Assisting with checking analysis within the team, ensuring our products meet the analytical & editorial standards expected by our clients.
Essential and desirable capabilities
We always support colleagues to develop their skills but to be successful in this job you really do need to already be able to tick most of these boxes...
We know it’s not a skill, but the successful candidate must have permission to work in the role’s location by the start of their employment.
You will also need;
- Experience in political, international relations or country risk consulting.
- Postgraduate degree with a background in political science, international relations or economics is desirable.
- A good command of the English language, both written and verbally.
- Experience or knowledge of the insurance sector is desirable, not essential.
- Previous work experience presenting results to clients and/or stakeholders.
- A regional specialism – expertise in the Americas or Western Europe is particularly useful.
- Foreign language skills are highly desirable.
- Quantitative research skills, particularly with regards to macroeconomic indictors.
