POSITION DESCRIPTION:
For over 160 years, the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh has responded to the changing needs of a dynamic metropolitan and suburban area. The Pittsburgh Y accepts the challenge to build its capacity to ensure the future of its mission and to respond to continuing and emerging needs.
We are looking for a high energy Vice President of Youth Development to lead and develop all aspects of youth programs. This position will provide leadership and guidance to the youth development programs, Y-Guides, Before and After-School, and summer day camps.
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred.
- YMCA Organizational Leader certification preferred.
- Eight to Ten years related experience (e.g., supervisor or coordinator of childcare programs) preferred.
- Minimum age of 21.
- Within 30 days of hire, completion of Child Abuse Prevention, Working with Program Volunteers, CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens training.
- Fulfillment of state-specific hiring standards and completion of YMCA program-specific training.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Commitment to inclusion and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Ensures programs and services meet community needs.
