JOB TITLE: Shipping/ Receiving Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Director of Manufacturing
FLSA STATUS: Salary Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY: Supervise and coordinate domestic and export shipments including
documentation. Coordinate the activities of receiving, storing, and shipping materials and
products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Determine and coordinate work assignments for department.
• Be familiar with and able to perform all duties and responsibilities of the
shipping and receiving departments.
• Issue written and oral instructions.
• Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to
policies and procedures.
• Requires organization and interpersonal skills to coordinate with other
departments and outside vendors.
• Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of department
• Confer with other departments to ensure coordination of other functions such as
production, inventory management and quality assurance.
• Uses Process Shipper software for processing shipments.
• Assists in the creation of Bill of Lading.
• Uses Sage computer program to retrieve information and create documentation.
• Documentation verification for SQF standards.
• All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule to accommodate shipping needs.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• General education with good basic math skills required. Technical degree or
apprenticeship and supervisory experience a plus.
• Must be able to become a certified fork lift trainer.
• Must have previous experience in shipping and receiving department duties.
• Must be able to operate a computer and be familiar with Microsoft Office
products.
• Must be in good physical condition, capable of heavy lifting (approximately 45
lbs.) on a repetitive basis.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to lift/carry 45 lbs without assistance.
• Must be able to stand for up to 4 hours at a time.
• Must be able to bend, squat, reach, push, pull, climb and walk.
