Optical Engineer

These are your tasks:

• In this role, you will be responsible for the development of complex optical systems, primarily in the infrared spectral range.

• You will develop concepts within the framework of design studies and conduct simulations for detailed system analysis. You will use software tools for optical design, tolerance, stray light, and thermal analysis.

• Your responsibilities include the specification of optical components as well as the coordination of the integration and metrological evaluation of the systems.

• As a contact person, you will operate our interfaces to optical component manufacturers and external project partners in the national and international environment.

• You are happy to contribute your own ideas to improve existing systems and evaluate new technology trends for their suitability for our systems.

What you bring with you:

• Your successfully completed studies in physics, photonics, laser / optotechnology or natural or engineering sciences with a focus on optical technologies are a good prerequisite for this vacancy. • You will convince us with your experience in using software tools for optical simulation (e.g. Zemax or Code V)

• You show initiative and are characterized by an independent and structured way of working.

• You enjoy interdisciplinary work as well as your ability to deal with unknowns in the project.

• You are ready to take on new challenges and have good written and spoken English skills.
