Cloud Wintel Engineer (Azure)

• Implement, manage, and support Azure Stack services and resources.
• Integrate Azure Stack with external systems and services.
• Manage Windows Server environments including administration, backup, restore, and upgrades.
• Administer and configure Windows domains.
• Manage Windows Server patching and security updates.
• Provide expertise in the configuration and setup of Windows operating systems, servers, and network environments.
• Administer third-party software (e.g., monitoring tools, utilities).
• Coordinate server activities, including hardware replacement and upgrades.
• Handle application setup and configuration across Windows and Linux platforms.
• Manage application deployments in a Windows and Linux environment.
• Perform monthly and ad-hoc security patching for Windows and Linux servers.
• Conduct regular health checks on Windows and Linux servers to ensure system health, performance, and security.
• Provide monthly reports on system performance, security, and patching activities.
• Provide basic troubleshooting, identify system issues, and escalate when necessary.
• Assist in tracking and documenting incidents, problems, and service requests.
• Monitor system alerts and provide first-line support for identified issues.
• Support backup and disaster recovery processes for critical systems

Requirements:

• Basic expertise in administering Azure Stack environments.
• Experience with Windows Server administration and common server tasks.
• Proficiency in Linux server administration at a basic level.
• Knowledge of Active Directory (AD), DNS, and group policies.
• Ability to manage IIS, MS Clusters, and other relevant Windows services.
• Familiarity with administering storage solutions and data management at a basic level.
• Understanding of backups, including restore and disaster recovery operations.
• Solid knowledge of networking concepts (routing, VPNs, firewalls) in both Windows and Linux environments.
• Ability to perform basic technical support, troubleshoot issues, and resolve service problems.
• Ability to perform antivirus updates and maintenance tasks for servers.
• Understanding of ITIL processes and best practices for incident management, change management, and service delivery.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate with vendors, customers, and team members.
• Experience with asset management, documentation, and server tagging.
• Basic understanding of analysing vulnerability reports and providing remediation actions.
• Proficiency in MS Excel for preparing reports and documentation.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
