Senior Procurement Executive (Tuas)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Department: Procurement Department

Reports to: Dept Manager

Functional relationships:

- Various Engineering Departments in Singapore like Product Design, SQE etc.

- Procurement Department in other affiliate companies and Japan HQ.

- Other supply chain key stakeholders like Production control, Material Warehouse, Accounts etc.

- External parties like Suppliers (ASEAN/East Asia/Japan)&their distributors etc.

POSITION PROFILE:

Based in: Singapore

Job Site: Tuas
The new member will be part of our Procurement team responsible for managing the supply of direct material for Production usage. Needs to work with new and existing partners to ensure timely delivery. Will be part of the team to drive value-adding and cost-saving activities relating to Li-on battery production material. Will also be involved in new parts introduction to production and manage the introduction smoothly. Play a key role in shaping our procurement strategy, optimizing costs, and ensuring supply chain resilience in a rapidly evolving market.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans that align with the company's long-term business objectives.
• Building relationships with suppliers and negotiating with them for the best price, quantities, and delivery timescales.
• Facilitate cross-functional communication and collaboration to ensure alignment on procurement goals.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and driving continuous improvement.
• Manage PO issuance of direct material, monitor shipments & and delivery dates, support quality and payment matters.
• Prepare necessary reports for decision-making or management reporting.
• Understanding the target material market and analyzing trends to make informed buying decisions.
• Undertake any ad hoc roles assigned by the superior.

ABILITY/COMPETENCY REQUIRED:

• To hold a Degree in Material Science, Supply Chain / Business Administration, or any Engineering related field with at least 5 years of working in similar function.
• Prior experience in handling metal parts, chemicals or resin parts purchase will be a plus point.
• Proven track record of driving cost savings and improving supplier performance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong understanding of procurement technology platforms.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
