Job Summary:
The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting various human resources functions within National Trails. This role involves managing employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and compliance with labor laws and company policies. The HR Generalist will serve as a point of contact for employees and management, providing guidance and support on HR-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, and conducting interviews.
- Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
- Employee Relations: Act as a liaison between employees and management, addressing employee concerns and resolving conflicts.
- Promote a positive work environment by fostering open communication and employee engagement.
- Performance Management: Support the performance appraisal process by providing guidance to managers and employees. Assist in the development and implementation of performance improvement plans as needed.
- Compliance and Policy Management: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Training and Development: Identify training needs and coordinate training programs for employees. Support employee development initiatives and career progression planning.
- HR Administration: Maintain employee records and HR databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Prepare reports and analytics related to HR metrics and initiatives.
- Benefits Administration: Assist employees with benefits enrollment and inquiries. Coordinate open enrollment periods and communicate benefits information to employees.
- Payroll: Assists with processing payroll and serves as a back up to Payroll Manager.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in human resources or a related role.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite. Skills:

- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:
The HR Generalist will work in an office environment, with occasional travel to other National Trails locations as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
